TSPTR Spike Good Vibrations sweatshirt in orange. Premium weight Portuguese cotton sweatshirt with vintage 70s Peanuts print.
"Snoopy's laid back mustachioed cousin Spike was first introduced into the strip in 1975. The embodiment of Hippie culture, he originally lived with coyotes, but they mistreated him, so he moved out, and moved somewhere in the desert close to the city of Needles, California, where he lives by himself, with a cactus for company. His talk of 'good vibrations' in the strip directly references The Beach Boys 1966 seminal hit single of the same name. The title was derived from Brian Wilson's fascination with cosmic vibrations, his mother would tell him as a child that dogs sometimes bark at people in response to their "bad vibrations". He used the concept to suggest extrasensory perception while Mike Love's lyrics were inspired by the nascent Flower Power movement. It heralded a wave of pop experimentation and the onset of psychedelic and prog rock and helped develop the use of the studio as a musical instrument."
